Located at the bottom of the Val della Porta, a side valley of the Verzasca Valley, the Capanna Borgna was opened in 1995. It consists of two buildings with 27 beds and a refectory for 24 people. Outside there is a fountain.
In 2023, renovations began on two more adjacent buildings that will be added to the first two in the future. The sheet metal roofs of the existing huts will also be replaced with poplar roofs, restoring the buildings to their original appearance.
From the Capanna Borgna it is possible to reach various peaks including Pizzo di Vogorno, Madone and Cima dell'Uomo. It is also the starting point of the famous Via Alta della Verzasca that continues along the ridges to the Capanna Barone.
