Today I decided to go up to Monte Bar for a new route, starting from Gola di Lago. Reached this place, you continue for a hundred meters until you reach a large parking lot where you are obliged to leave your car, since a little further ahead there is a no traffic sign. Then continue on foot following the road to Zalto (where there is a barrier) and continue until you reach Alpe di Davrosio. From here take the path that leads to Motto della Croce and, after turning north, continue towards Caval Drossa. However, since my intention was to go up to Monte Bar first, after about 150 metres we leave the path and follow the road that leads to the Monte Bar Hut. Once we have reached the altitude of 1540 meters, we take the path that goes up to the saddle between Caval Drossa and Monte Bar, paying attention because you can barely notice it and there are no signs. Once you reach the saddle, turn north-east and follow the last slope to the top of Monte Bar.
For the return, we retrace the path back to the saddle reached previously and, if we want to, we continue straight to the top of Caval Drossa.
Back to the saddle again, we descend to Alpe Crocc and from there, along a nice path, to Alpe Davrosio. From here, following the road already taken at the start, we return to the starting point.
As far as water is concerned, there isn't much water on Monte Bar. There is a fountain at Davrosio, above the alp (altitude 1245 meters) and another one above the Motto della Croce near the chapel (altitude 1418 meters).
